Several months ago I wrote a blog post about being happy and centered in Christ even on the really hard days, you can read it here. This is a follow up post of sorts. As I am still waiting and working for the next phase of my life I found myself becoming really annoyed and resentful that life wasn’t moving quicker for me. In the name of honesty, I had a really bad attitude about some specific things and I was reminded of Colossians 3:23-24.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
I began to realize that my attitude, my actions, and my words do not have to be dependent on what’s going on in my life. Praise can be the song of my life, no matter what, and what I do here on earth has eternal value. Why wouldn’t I want to make everyday worthwhile and live to please my Savior? Those verses has made me completely switch gears and in those situations I had a bad attitude have now changed to a joyful, kinder, more content attitude.
Wherever you are in life stop waiting for something to change so you can serve God, serve Him right now, in the everyday, in the mundane, in everything.
with love, Laney
