I have spent a lot of time on my blog talking about staying away from trendy clothing and accessories because they don’t stand the test of time and add much to your wardrobe for very long. I am usually not one to get caught up in trends, HOWEVER, this summer there have been a handful of things that are trendy by definition but I’ve found myself loving them. I always say that if you’re going to buy into a trend, don’t spend a bunch of money on those items unless they prove to be a staple for you.
Bag straps are IN! I love my black bag, it goes with everything but it looks a little heavy with a summery outfit so I got this bag strap to add a spring/summer element and it honestly feels like a whole new bag with the different straps. Anthropologie and Etsy have some adorable bag straps in a range of prices.
I would never normally see clothes or jewelry on a tv show and buy that item, I think everyone else does it and it becomes overdone on social media and in real life to me. With that being said, I watched Outer Banks when it first came out and saw Sarah Cameron’s adorable star choker and HAD to have it. A few DuckDuckGo searches later and I found this exact replica on Etsy. I love lightening bolts and stars so it goes with my other jewelry really well and I have yet to see anyone with the same necklace, so that’s a win for me!
Bracelets. Beaded bracelets. Friendship bracelets. I don’t know if quarantine made everyone bring out their bead kits from the third grade or what but they are majorly trending right now. While I don’t think they’ll be around long I do think they are adorable. Love all these and these super chic looking ones.
Bike shorts. I hate that I’m writing this because 95% of the time I do not like the way they are styled/I would never style them that way. I didn’t plan on buying any but my sis bought a two pack off amazon and gave me a pair of them. They have a five inch inseam and I wear them strictly for working out or lounge. I really like the length they provide and I have my eyes on these and these, and thinking about investing in this pair, everything from this brand is made in the USA (love that!)
